Why is Tuckahoe Turf better than their turf?

Hardier turf. Less compression.

Our sod is grown on Hammonton sandy-loam soil, transplants on almost any soil.

Superior drainage. No pooling.

About Tuckahoe Turf Farms

The Farming operations include twelve hundred acres, all family owned, eight hundred are cultivated, primarily in sod. The remaining five hundred acres consist of permanently preserved watershed, wetlands, and service areas. Tuckahoe Turf Farms is one of the largest growers of sod in the Northeast and a leader in new and innovative varieties of sod and growth technology.

In addition, we do specialty work, such as, sports field removal and installations, golf course construction, and major off-site seeding. Distribution is throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey.

In January of 1931, the farming family of Elmer Betts moved from Stratford, Connecticut, to Estell Manor in Atlantic County, adjacent to the Tuckahoe River. During the Spring of 1931 and successive years, Elmer and his son Walter operated a truck farm to support the family. They also grew cranberries in a nearby bog in order to pay property taxes.

Seeding season is at it’s peek right now. Cool nights and warm days equal excellent growing conditions. Today we received over 800 bags of grass seed, direct from our supplier in Oregon, where just days before the seed was harvested, cleaned, tested, bagged and tagged for Tuckahoe Turf Farms. Current hours are Monday thru Thursday 7am to 4pm, Fridays till 3pm. Open next couple Saturdays 8am to Noon. The office is open, you can order online and pickup curbside, or order online and have FedEx deliver to your door step. www.shopttfarms.com “Cost is more important than quality but quality is best way to reduce cost” Genichi Taguchi. #mtviewseed ... Best time, mid August to Early October (weather is a factor, but could go a bit later) Sometimes we seed in the spring, late March to early May. But fall seeding gives us the best results, has plenty of time to get established before the dead heat of summer.

What do you recommend for residential. I have been using fescue

Blue grass in stock?

What if I used sod, but part of it died. Would I have to rip that part up n fertilize and put new seed down to grow that section?
